The team has been helping with this for almost 20 years. Great work!

Dr. Fears presented the Alpha Program Review. The report is available for review on Board Docs.

The Summer School Program Evaluation, which included contributions from Dr. Gregg Klinginsmith, Shelley Kinder, Jill Schleuter, and Dr. Aaron Jones, proposed the following goals:
1. Increase learning opportunities for students in summer school
2. Increase student enrollment in summer school
3. Increase revenue from summer school

Personnel:
Congratulations to Annie Brotemarkle, who has been hired as an Administrative Assistant at Black Hawk Middle School!
Congratulations to Dawn Carr-Smith who has been hired as a full-time Bus Driver!

Audit:
Congratulations to the district finance team on a clean audit from Daniel Jones & Associates! After an extensive audit, there were no findings in the audit and internal controls were discussed.  The auditor gave a short presentation over the process and the letter sent to the district is available for viewing here.  The full audit can be viewed here.

Course Guides:
Course Guides for middle school and high school were approved.

Summer School Proposal:
This proposal has summer school running  Monday-Thursday, starting on Tuesday, May 28 and ending on Thursday, June 27.  Snow days could push the start and end date back. The recommended locations are Daniel Boone, Black Hawk Middle School, and the High School. The full proposal can be viewed on Board Docs.

2019-2020 Calendar:
No action was taken on next year’s calendar - notably the potential for a four-day week - but it could come to a vote in January, 2019.

Under this potential plan, students would have a “regular” schedule of attending school Tuesday-Friday. The school days would be approximately 30 minutes longer than under the current schedule and early release days would be eliminated, allowing for  an annual savings to the district of approximately $300,000. To lessen the potential disruption this could place on families, the district would offer - at no charge - a student care program in the buildings on Mondays. This plan is also one that could help the district better retain staff.

Tax Levy:
There will be no tax initiative on the April, 2019 ballot. The board took no action on this possibility, and discussed the potential to do so in August, 2019.

Joint Meeting With City of Warrenton:
The WCR3 School Board and the City of Warrenton will have a joint meeting on February 28, 2019.

Next Meeting:
The next regular Board Meeting is set for January 10, 2019, at 7:00 p.m.
