The Home & School Connection, Early Years, Middle Years, and Reading Connections published by Resources for Educators, is being provided to parents in compliance with Missouri School Improvement Standard 7.5 which states: The district provides opportunities for parents/guardians to learn about the intellectual and development needs of their children at all ages and to participate constructively in their children's education.

Therefore, strategies are to be in place to include parents in the educational process. These strategies include:

• Informing parents/guardians about the educational programs and services provided in the school(s) their children attend.
• Informing parents/guardians of the learning objectives and goals in their children's classes
• Providing resources that parents and children can use together to support learning.

Through providing this on-line information, the district seeks to build closer partnerships between families and schools in order to give real help and support to those we serve. From September through May, our families will be provided with age appropriate tips and ideas today's busy families can use immediately to:

• improve school success
• boost the home and school partnership
• enhance parenting skills, and
• build positive character traits.
