Reading Rocks
Welcome Warrior Ridge Readers!! The at home reading program at Warrior Ridge is known as “READING ROCKS!” The start date for the 09-10 school years will be August 31st.
Students will be provided “Reading Rocks” sheets to fill out for their at home reading time. Each line on the form is 10 minutes of reading time, each form equals one hour. Students may read the same book for an hour or if they prefer, they can also read magazines and newspapers. “Reading Rocks” forms will be sent home with all students and extra forms are available in their classrooms. Each classroom teacher will display a board showing the total number of forms each student has returned to school.
A “Reading Rocks” party is given to all the students that turn in 15 forms per semester. The parties last for 35 minutes and students will be allowed to bring electronic games during the party.
