Kindergarten Registration Set for April

REGISTRATION FOR 2010-2011 KINDERGARTEN

Registration and screening for kindergarten students for the 2010-2011 school year will be held at the Daniel Boone Elementary School Library on Tuesday, April 6, Wednesday, April 7; Thursday, April 8; and Friday, April 9, 2010. All children of kindergarten age who live within the Warren County R-III School District should enroll. Current Missouri law requires a child to be five years of age before August 1, 2010 to be enrolled in a public school kindergarten.

Parents enrolling their children must have proof of residence (tax bill, electric bill, water bill, mortgage statement, lease agreement, etc.), identification, their child’s Social Security number, birth certificate, and immunization record. Your child’s immunization record will be reviewed and you will be informed if the record is complete or if your child is in need of any vaccinations. For further information concerning immunizations please call Laurie Jansen at 456-4311 ext. 5359.

A Kindergarten Information Night will be held on Tuesday, March 30, at 7:00 p.m. in the Daniel Boone Elementary gym. School staff will provide information regarding registration, health records and screening details. Parents attending will be able to pick up registration packets and sign up for a screening appointment for the April 6, 7, 8 and 9 registration. The packet of information should be returned to school at the screening appointment time. Parents will complete the registration process while the child is being screened.

Parents As Teachers (PAT) staff will have activities for the future 2010-2011 Kindergartners during the evening. If you have any questions please call Mrs. Twiehaus at 636-456-6930 ext. 5303.

Mrs. Kim Gish, Elementary Counselor, is available to answer any questions parents
may have concerning the screening program by calling 456-4311 ext. 5122. For additional information, call the Daniel Boone Office at 456-6905.
