WARRENTON HIGH SCHOOL LOCAL SCHOLARSHIPS –

Please Note- As scholarship forms become available for 2011-2012 they will be posted to the individual scholarship. Local scholarships will not be available until after February 2012. 

Please check each scholarship for different deadline dates. If there is no scholarship form posted, please check in the guidance office to see if they are available. 

Advance Beauty College-
Advance Beauty College in Warrenton is offering 2 scholarships ($500.00 each) to students who plan to attend their college. Selection is based on grade point average and accomplishments. 

AMA Academic Scholarship Fund-
As graduates of Warrenton High School,  Andy, Alex and Malory Toebben are sponsoring the AMA Academic Scholarship Fund for students who are planning to further their education. This scholarship is open to all Warrenton High School seniors.

Big Red Boosters- 
The Big Red Booster Scholarship Program will provide an academic scholarship to one male and one female athlete each year. The scholarship payment may be used for tuition and books at an accredited institution. Payments will be made directly to the college or university attending in the name of the recipient(s).

George and Melna Bolm Scholarship- 
George and Melna Bolm of Warrenton offer two scholarships ($1,000 each) to one male and one female student who plan to major in an agriculture related area with preference for a student attending the University of Missouri-Columbia.   If no agriculture students qualify, health care at the University of Missouri will be considered.

Brockfeld Scholarship-
Russell Brockfeld is sponsoring a $500.00 scholarship in memory of G. A. Brockfeld, Nell M. Brockfeld and Jon A. Brockfeld. The scholarship is intended to assist students entering a business related major, skilled trade or professional career. Selection is based on school record, work experience, a written paragraph stating reasons for applying and academic standing.

Class of 1985 Scholarship-
This scholarship is a little different. For this scholarship, we are looking for nominations of students by fellow students and teachers. The nomination form is in the file cabinet.  

Class of 1986 Scholarship-
This $250.00 scholarship is for students who have at least a 2.5 GPA and plan to attend a community college, vocational school or 4 year college/university in the fall. You must have 2 letters of recommendation and write an essay. A+ students are eligible for this scholarship.

Community Teacher's Association (MSTA) Scholarship- 
This $250 scholarship is for students who have at least a 2.5 GPA and plan to attend a community college, vocational school or 4 year college/university in the fall.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications are due March 21st.  

Daniel Boone Retired Teachers and School Personnel Scholarship- 
The purpose of this scholarship is to promote teaching through the offering of a $500 scholarship to a 2010-2011graduate from a public high school in Warren County who is planning a career in education.  

Danny J. Martin Memorial Scholarship and Dr. James Cale Memorial Scholarship-
These are sponsored by the Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce. There are two different applications for these scholarships ($500.00 each). Students may only apply for one of them. Recipient must be sponsored by a Chamber member. Each Chamber member may sponsor only one(1) scholarship applicant each year. Recipient must plan to attend a two year college, four year college or vocational school. Academics, community and school involvement will all be considered. Scholarship is presented at the summer banquet.

Kay Shores Memorial Grant and Aid- 
The local chapter of Gamma Alpha offers a $750.00 scholarship to a female graduate planning to further her education. The scholarship is open to female students who are planning a career in education. Selection will be by a committee of members of Gamma Alpha.

Louis W. Gunther Scholarship-  
This scholarship is sponsored by Frieden’s United Church of Christ.  It is for students who are planning to become a Registered Nurse.  Students do not have to be members of Frieden’s United Church of Christ to apply.

IAABO-IAFO Scholarship- 
The International Association of Approved Basketball Officials and the Interscholastic Association of Football Officials are offering scholarships to any high school senior who is a US citizen.  Students must have a cumulative 3.0 grade point average at the end of their first semester senior year.  The application is attached.  Applications are also available in the Guidance Office.  Completed applications must be turned in to the Guidance Office by April 15, 2011.  

Isemann Scholarship-
The Isemann Scholarship is administered through Friedens United Church of Christ and is awarded to Frieden’s members who are attending a UCC Seminary or Nursing School or non-members attending Deaconess College of Nursing. Students do not have to be members of Frieden’s United Church of Christ to apply.

Livestock Scholarship Washington Town and Country Fair- 
To be eligible for this scholarship, the applicant must apply during their senior year in high school and must have actively exhibited livestock (market or breeding) at the Washington Town and Country Fair any year prior to their senior year in high school.  Applicant must also be a resident of Franklin or an adjoining county and must be enrolled in a four-year college degree program, a two-year associate's degree program, or a one-year intensive technical program.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  The application deadline is March 31, 2011.

MFA Foundation Scholarship Program-
The amount of the scholarship is $2,000.  The scholarship winner is selected by a local selection committee.  The winner is announced at either the awards assembly or graduation ceremonies.  In making its decision, the committee considers:  scholastic progress, citizenship, extra-curricular activities, educational plans, and financial need.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  The application deadline March 15, 2011.

Margaret Pringle Memorial Scholarship- 
There are 4 scholarships ($1,000.00 each) awarded through this memorial. Scholarships will go to students who is attending a vocational or technical school and students who are planning to play a sport in college, but has not earned a scholarship for it. Preference will be given to students attending a Missouri college or university.

Marthasville Area Chamber of Commerce Scholarship- 
This $1,000.00 scholarship is only available to seniors in the 63357 and 63342 zip codes.

The Missouri Bank Scholarship-
The Missouri Bank of Warrenton awards two scholarships ($1,000.00 each) to graduating seniors whom will be attending a college or university. Factors considered in the selection are grade point average, college admissions test scores, student curriculum, financial need, and extracurricular activities.

Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship- 
This scholarship is for graduating seniors interested in or intending to pursue an insurance, risk management or actuarial science course of study in a Missouri college or university.  Four (4) students will be selected for this scholarship.  Criteria for the scholarship is:  1. Must be a MO resident.   2.  Must be a 2011 graduating senior.  3.  Must be full-time MO college/university freshman in the coming academic year with an interest or intent to pursue an insurance, risk management, or actuarial science course of study.  4.  Applicant must demonstrate scholarship-in the complete sense- consistent with capacity and circumstances.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be postmarked by March 31, 2011.  

The Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship Fund-
The Missouri Bankers Foundation is pleased to announce the MBF Scholarship Program for 2011.  Seven $500 scholarships will be awarded to 2011 high school graduates for their first semester tuition payment and/or college expenses. This is for young people interested in pursuing banking and banking-related careers.The scholarship application is attached.  If you cannot open the attachment please let me know and I will send a copy of the application home with your student.

Patients First Health Care-
Patients First Educational Foundation's scholarship is for students pursuing an education for a health-related career following graduation.  The foundation currently offers four $1,000 scholarships to qualifying graduating high school seniors.  Successful applicants must meet the following requirements:  1.  Graduate with a  3.0 GPA or better.  2.  Financial need may be considered.  Complete Financial Need Section.  3.  Applicant seeking education in a health-related occupation.  4.  Applicant must live within the Patients First service area.

People's Bank & Trust Scholarship- 
This scholarship is sponsored by the People’s Bank and Trust. Students must have at least a 2.75 GPA to be considered. Any high school senior in Lincoln County, Warren County, St. Dominic, Fort Zumwalt, Clopton High School and Bowling Green schools are eligible to apply. Applications are due to the counselor on March 26th by 3p.m. Scholarship Form

Roehrs Family Scholarship-
This scholarship is open to any student from WHS. It is sponsored by the Roehrs family and is worth $2000. Applicants must write an essay about the importance of family in their development.

Tim and Jan Long Leadership Award-  
This scholarship provides a $2500.00 one-time educational grant to a deserving student to further his or her education. Eligible studetns should be leaders in school and community as well as have a record of service to school and local/world community. Eligible students must also have exceptional academic credentials.

The Schowengerdt Family Scholarship- 
Ms. Margaret Schowengerdt of Warrenton established the Schowengerdt Family Scholarship in 1994. It is intended to assist graduates of Warrenton High School who will attend the University of Missouri Columbia. The number and amount of scholarships may vary yearly and are based on academic achievement, character, personality, industry, and ambition.  Financial need may be a consideration.

The Raymond & Marie Sprick Scholarship- 
The Raymond & Marie Sprick Scholarship Fund was established to aid deserving WHS graduates who will be pursuing further education in the specific areas of health care, education and agriculture/conservation. Two or more scholarships will be awarded annually, one or more in each of the above areas. The amount will very each year. Students do not have to be members of Frieden’s United Church of Christ to apply.

Warren County Farm Bureau Scholarship-
Student’s family must be Warren County Farm Bureau members on or before January 1, 2011. Applicants may major in any discipline, but preference will be given to those enrolling in an agricultural field.

Warren County Sheriff Department Role Model Scholarship-
The Warren County Sheriff’s Department and the Warren County D.A.R.E. Program provide one scholarship to a senior who is planning on furthering their education. Emphasis is placed on being a citizen of good character and being a positive role model.

The Warren County Sheriff's Department-
 Paul Fricke Memorial Scholarship- Warren County Sheriff's Department- This award is for a one-time/non-renewable $500.00 scholarships.  Applicants must: reside in Warren County, be a senior graduating from high school, and be pursuing an area of study directly related to law enforcement, medical, or fire service.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications are due to the Sheriff's Department by March 9, 2012. Warrenton High School Staff Scholarship- 
The Warren County R-III Board of Education offers a scholarship to a graduating senior planning to attend college.  Academic standing, school involvement and financial need are considerations.  Selection is made by WHS staff.

Warrenton High School Industrial Technology Club Scholarship- 
Warrenton High School Industrial Technology Club sponsors a scholarship for a senior planning to further his/her education. Consideration is given to financial need, school or community involvement, academic standing, reasons for applying, work experience, and other scholarships received. Club membership is not required but will be considered. Selection by committee of Industrial Arts Club members, school staff and community residents.

Warrenton High School National Honor Society Scholarship- 
The Warrenton High School National Honor Society Chapter sponsors a scholarship to a senior member of National Honor Society planning to continue his/her education. Academic standing and community involvement are considered. Application form includes reasons for applying and future plans for continuing education.  Selection by school staff members and club advisor.

Warrenton High School Student Council Scholarship- 
The Warrenton High School Student Council offers a $500.00 scholarship to a graduating senior planning to attend college. Academic standing, school involvement and financial need are considerations. Selection by members of Student Council.

Warrenton Fire Protection District Scholarship- 
The Warrenton Fire Protection District sponsors a $500.00 scholarship in honor of fallen firefighters.  It is open to students who have been active in school activities and who have maintained good grades. Selection is made by members of the fire protection district.

Warrenton Fire Protection Ladies Auxiliary- 
We will be awarding a $500 scholarship to and individual  who is  resident of the Warrenton Fire Protection District and is pursuing a career in emergency health care or fire fighting services.  Each applicant must include a 500 word essay stating why they deserve the scholarship and must attach two letter of recommendation.  We are asking that the application be submitted by March 19, 2011 to the high school guidance office.

Warrenton High School Alumni Association Scholarship-
The WHS Alumni Association offers a scholarship with academic standing and school and community involvement as the main selection criteria. Selection is made by the WHS Alumni Association.

Warrenton Rotary Club Scholarship- 
The Warrenton Rotary Club sponsors $2,000 scholarships. The number of awards varies.  Consideration is given to academic standing and community involvement. The application contains a written section stating reasons for applying is required.  Selection by Rotary members.

William H. Cooper Leadership Scholarship-First State Community Bank-This scholarship is for undergraduates who desire to further their education in a business related field.  One high school senior, who is a registered student at a participating high school within an FSCB market, will be selected each spring.  The selection will be based on review of a written application that includes a letter of recommendation from a person familiar with the applicant's leadership experiences and potential.  If the applicant becomes a finalist, he/she will be invited to participate in a personal interview.  The scholarship winner will receive a scholarship valued at $2,500 the first year and $2,500 the second year as long as a GPA of 2.5 or above is maintained.  The applicant will be evaluated on the following criteria:  Leadership Experience and Potential, Evidence of Personal Character and Integrity, Orientation toward Community and Service, Commitment to Personal Growth Applicants, Commitment to Physical Fitness and Wellness, and Academic Eligibility.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  All applications are due back to the Guidance Office on Friday, March 11th.  The application packet has a deadline of March 15th, but we will be on Spring Break that week so I need them by the 11th.  

The Woodrow Wilson Blackwood Scholarship- 
Each year, the Warrenton Education Association, in memory of Mr. Blackwood, a former Warren County R 3 teacher, offers two scholarships ($1,000.00 each) to graduates planning to further his/her education. Applicants must complete an application form stating educational goals and listing two references. Academic record, educational goals, and financial need are considered.  Selection by a committee of the Warrenton Education Association.

AES Engineers-
The consulting firm of AES Engineers is committed to continuing its support of higher education by providing scholarships to deserving students.  To be eligible the student needs to answer one of the essay questions that they will find on our site at http://www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.htm .Our belief is that achieving a high grade point average should not be the only criteria for determining who deserves to be helped. Alpha Gamma Sigma- 
The only requirements for applying are being a male and attending the University of Missouri-Columbia. Applications are available in the guidance office. 

Aspire Beauty Academy- 
This scholarship is open to all graduating high school seniors interested in pursuing a cosmetology license. The academy is offering ONE $500.00 scholarship to the high school. Applications are available in the guidance office.

Ava's Grace Scholarship Foundation-
Ava's Grace Scholarship Foundation is providing HOPE to young people who have dreams of higher education and a different life. Our mission is to break the cycle of incarceration through the gift of education. Beginning in 2012, Ava's Grace Scholarship Foundation will award scholarships for higher education to children in the state of Missouri who have an incarcerated parent or primary care giver. Please join us in our mission! Ava's Grace is a 501(c)3 charitable organization.

Belcher Scholarship- 
The Warren County R-III School Board is eligible to nominate one high school senior to apply for the Belcher Scholarship.  The Board will select their applicant based on academic achievement, leadership abilities, and essay.  The chosen applicant will receive a $250 scholarship and will advance to the Regional Leadership Committee for a chance to when additional scholarships.  Applications are located in the Guidance Office.  Completed applications, including the essay, are due to Mrs. McDaniel on November 28th by 3:00p.m.

Best Buy- 
The Best Buy Scholarship program offers 1,000 scholarships of $1,000 each. Students need solid grades and need to be involved in volunteer community service or have work experience.

Charles L. Bacon Memorial Scholarship- 
Two awards of $500 are given annually in memory of the first Missourian to serve as National Commander of The American Legion.  Eligible are individuals who are currently members of The American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of the American Legion, or a descendant of a member of any thereof.  Applicants must be unmarried and under the age of 21, and must use the scholarship as a full-time student in an accredited college or university and a resident of Missouri.

Charter Communications- 
To be eligible students must be high school seniors residing or attending a high school in a Charter Communications market in Missouri with at least 2.8 gpa.  They must also submit two letters of recommendation (from a teacher, principal, coach, community leader or neighbor) attesting to their school or community involvement, as well as a 250- word essay on their future goals or formative experiences.  Applications are available in the guidance office.  

College of Business (3 scholarships) through Univ. of Missouri-
Sam M. Walton Scholarship, Ponder Minority Scholarship, and Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. Scholarship-  Awarded to students pursuing degrees from MU’s College of Business.  The selection criteria can be found at the top of the applications.  Applications can be downloaded from www.business.missouri.edu or picked up from the guidance office.  

Conservation Foundation of Missouri Scholarship- 
CFMO offers 5 $1000 scholarships to high school seniors or undergraduates in different natural resources areas.  Preference will be given to those demonstrating financial need.  Applications must be submitted by December 31. Information can be found at http://www.swcs.missouri.edu/scholarship.htm

Epsilon Sigma Alpha Scholarship-
The Epsilon Sigma Alpha Foundation is a non-profit/tax exempt organization which operates exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The ESA Foundation awards over 160 scholarships nationally and internationally each year. Scholarship applications and instructions may be downloaded from the website: www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org. Erman W. Taylor Memorial Scholarship- 
Two $500 awards are given annually to a student planning on obtaining a degree in education, in honor of this Past National Executive Committeeman from Missouri.  To be eligible, individuals must: 1) be a descendant of a veteran who served 90 or more days of active duty in the armed forces and having an honorable discharge; 2) be a Missouri resident; 3) use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university; 4) provide a copy of the discharge certificate for the veteran on whose the application is made; and 5) submit an essay of 500 words or less on the subject.

The Hagan Scholarship Foundation-
exempt organization whose sole purpose is to award scholarships to high achieving students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college.  The scholarship is not intended to be a "full-ride" scholarship; instead it is intended to make a college education affordable and will provide each recipient with the opportunity to graduate college debt free.  For more information please visit their website at www.hsfmo.org. Imagine America High School Scholarship-
Students who graduate in 2012 may now apply for the Imagine America high school scholarship program. We are excited to get the new program year started! International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (IAABO)- 
This scholarship is open to all high school seniors who are planning on attending college. You do not have to participate in sports. Twenty-one $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Applications are available in the guidance office. 

James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship Program- 
Applicants must:  be Missouri residents; graduating seniors at Missouri high schools who plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited four-year college or university; demonstrate limited financial resources with an expected family contribution of $7,000 or less per year and a family adjusted gross income of $50,000 or less; and have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. 

Joseph J. Frank Scholarship- 
Five awards of $500 are given annually to individuals who are descendants of a veteran.  Applicant must have attended a full session of The American Legion Boys State or The American Legion Auxiliary Girls State program.  Applicants must be unmarried, under the age of 21, a current resident of the state of Missouri and must use the scholarship as a full time student in an accredited college or university.

Kansas City Associated Equipment Distributors- 
Both men and women attending a vocational/technical school, and pursuing a certificate or associates degree in Diesel Mechanics or Heavy Equipment Repair are eligible to apply.  Applications are available in the guidance.  

Komen Scholarship- 
Applications for the $10,000 scholarships will be accepted from September 15th, 2011 – November 15th, 2011. These awards aid college students facing significant financial burdens due to the loss of a parent (or guardian) to breast cancer or their own breast cancer diagnosis at age 25 or younger. The scholarship awards $10,000 per year (for up to four years) to a student to attend a state university in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree. Komen scholarship recipients are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial need and demonstrated leadership potential. Scholarship recipients serve as Komen Collegiate Ambassadors and must volunteer their time to breast cancer awareness activities for at least 20 hours per semester. Legacy Scholarship- 
The children, grandchildren, siblings and spouses of SIUE graduates who are SIUE Alumni Association Members are eligible to receive this award.  Complete details for this scholarship along with the application are available in the guidance office and on line at http://www.siue.edu/alumni/awards/legacy_intro.shtml.  

Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship Fund- 
Two awards of $1000 each are given each year.  One to a boy who has attended a full session of The American Legion Boys State of Missouri or a full session of the Department’s Cadet Patrol Academy.  The second award is given to a girl who has attended a full session of The American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State program or a full session of the Department’s Cadet Patrol Academy.  

Lindenwood Black and White Ball Scholarship-
 
This scholarship is open to all incoming first-year students who meet the University's requirements for admission and demonstrate academic success, leadership and financial need.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.  Applications must be postmarked by March 1, 2012.  

M. D. “Jack” Murphy Memorial Nurses Training Fund- 
Currently one $750 award is given for two successive semesters and may, by application, be extended for two additional successive semesters.  This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse, and may be used in their freshman or subsequent college years.  The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class or have a “C” equivalent standing from their last college or university semester.  Scholarships are awarded for one year, payable $375 per semester.

The Megan Meier Foundation-
Is offering a scholarship to current, full-time seniors with a minimum 2.5 GPA.  For more information and to download the scholarship form please visit their website at

MIAAA/NIAAA Scholarship-
Senior athletes- The MIAAA, in conjunction with the NIAAA, will offer two $1,000 scholarships and two $500 runner-up scholarships for Missouri male and female student-athletes.  The scholarship applications will be available on the NIAAA website (niaaa.org) and are due at the end of February to Missouri's NIAAA Liaison. 

MFA Foundation Scholarship- 
The scholarship may be used at the college or university of your choice and toward any course of study you desire to pursue. The amount of the scholarship is $2,000. The local selection committee considers the following: scholastic progress, citizenship, extra-curricular activities, educational plans, and financial need. Applications are available in the guidance office. 

Missouri Association Mutual Insurance Company Scholarship (MAMIC)- 
The MAMIC scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan on attending a college or university in Missouri. Applications are available in the guidance office. 

Missouri Gaming Association-
 
The MGA has announced its 2010 Project 21 Scholarship program for Missouri high school seniors.  The program is intended to raise awareness among underage individuals that gambling under the age of 21 is illegal.  Through their creative and artistic talents, students can raise awareness among their peers.  Students may submit in one of three categories:  article, poster, or video.  Applications are available in the guidance office and on line at http://www.missouricasinos.org/pdfs/project_21.pdf

Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship- 
 1.  Applicant must be a Missouri resident.  2.  Applicant must be a graduating high school senior in the year of the award.  3.  Applicant must be a full-time Missouri college/university freshman in the coming academic year with an interest or intent to pursue an insurance, risk management, or actuarial science course of study in an accredited Missouri college or university.  4.  Applicant must demonstrate scholarship--in the complete sense--consistent with capacity and circumstances. Missouri JCI Scholarship- 
Now is the time to start filling out the Missouri Senate Scholarship forms which is located on the Missouri JCI Senate Website under forms.  You will be able to mail to:  Jackie Bax, 651 Hwy A, Bonnots Mill, MO  65016.  The Missouri JCI Senate will choose two nominees to represent Missouri for the JCI Senate Foundation scholarships. Each of these two nominees will receive a $250 scholarship from the Missouri JCI Senate. These are available to Missouri residents only.   The United States JCI Senate Foundation is once again awarding $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the United States who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities, or vocational schools.  There are also copies of the application available in the Guidance Office.

Missouri University of Science and Technology- 
This highly competitive scholarship of $12,000 per year will be awarded to 15 students.  To be eligible you must:  be in the upper 10% of your high school graduating class or have a GPA of 3.75 or better; take the ACT and receive a score of 30 or better; have strong leadership skills through school and community activities; be a resident of the state of Missouri; and write a 750-word essay and a 200-word analysis on topics chosen by MO S&T.  For more information see Mrs. McDaniel in the guidance office.

Missouri’s Cattlemen Foundation Scholarship Program-
Open to high school seniors and current college students.  Applications are available in the guidance office and must be postmarked by Sept. 30th to be considered.  Students do not have to raise cattle or be a member of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association; however they must be nominated by a current MCA member.   

Mizzou Alumni Association Scholar Program- 
Minimum qualifications for the Alumni Scholars Program are:  26 or higher on the ACT; OR Rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class. Applications will be accepted online only and may be submitted at www.mizzou.com/scholarship.  

MSPE St. Louis Chapter Scholarship Program- 
To be eligible, students must enroll in an engineering program that has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET-EAC) or a Pre-Engineering Program at a Missouri College or University that has a working agreement to transfer credits with one of the named schools listed on the application.  Applicants must reside within the chapter boundaries of one of the following counties:  Franklin, Jefferson, Lincoln, St. Louis, St. Charles, or Warren. Applications are available in the guidance office.  

National Farmers Farm Kids for College Scholarship-
 
To be eligible you must be a high school senior with the intent to major in an agricultural field at an accredited college or university. The organization funding the scholarship is awarding three $1,000 scholarships. Applications are available in the guidance office. 

NCCE Partner Colleges and Universities Scholarship Programs- 
The following schools are offering $6000 merit scholarships.  If you are interested in attending these schools and would like more information about the scholarships please see Mrs. McDaniel in the guidance office.  The participating schools are:  Drexel University, Johnson and Wales University, Kettering University, Pace University, Rochester Institute of Technology, University of Cincinnati, University of Toledo, and Wentworth Institute of Technology.  

Patients First Health Care Educational Foundation- 
Patients First Health Care Educational Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit entity of Patients First Health Care, LLC. The foundation is pleased to offer various scholarship opportunities. Applications must be mailed to Patients First Health Care Educational Foundation, Attn:  Cara Knox, 901 Patients First Drive, Washington, MO 63090 by February 29, 2012. Recipients will be announced in late spring. Successful applicants must meet the following requirements: 1. Graduating high school senior with a 3.0 GPA or better. 2.Applicant seeking education in a health-related occupation. 3. Applicant must live within the Patients First service area. 4. Financial need. 5. All relevant sections of the scholarship application must be completed. 6. Attach a copy of your high school (seven semester) transcript.7. Scholarships require full-time college attendance, and are for one year. Applications are available in the Guidance Office.

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards-  
The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards were created in 1995 to recognize students in middle and high school grades who have demonstrated exemplary community service. These prestigious awards, sponsored by Prudential Financial in partnership with the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), are presented annually on the local, state and national level. Robert C. Byrd Honors Scholarship- 
To be eligible to receive a scholarship under this program, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:  Be accepted by fall 2010 for enrollment at an institution of higher education as defined in Institution Eligibility Regulations, Section 600.4. Present evidence that he or she received a test score above the 90th percentile on the ACT. Present evidence of unweighted GPA on the student’s 7th semester transcripts in the case of a regularly enrolled high school senior.  File with the institution he/she intends to attend a statement of registration status certifying that he/she is registered with the selective service. Applications are available in the guidance office.

Shane Dean Voyles Memorial Scholarship- 
One $500 award will be awarded, annually.  1) Each school in the State of Missouri may nominate one student to be considered for the award. 2) The nominee will be selected on athletic, scholastic and leadership abilities.  The nominee should be deeply involved in community and school activities.  3) Must use the award as a full-time student at an accredited college or university.  

Show-Me Chapter Scholarships-
The Show-Me Chapter offers a $2000 and a $1000 scholarship for a high school senior or undergraduate.  This is an essay contest.  Please encourage any eligible students to enter.  

St. Charles Community College-
SCC Foundation scholarship packets are now available for current/prospective students to complete and submit by the deadline April 1, 2011.  More than $60,000 is available and about 50 scholarships will be awarded. This is the ONLY time in the year that tuition scholarship will be awarded by the Foundation. Their generous donors want to make sure students don’t give up their dream of a college education because finances are not available.  The new packet layout means students only have to submit ONE application, essay, transcript, and 2 letters of recommendation.

St. Louis Post Dispatch Minority Scholarship
If you are an African-American high school senior or junior college student, you could receive a $6,000-per-year scholarship to attend an accredited college or university that has a journalism or mass communications program.  Applications are available in the Guidance Office.   

Stahlschmidt Family Legacy Scholarship- 
Applicants must be incoming freshmen or transfer students to SIUE and must be enrolled full-time at the University.  Applicants will be judged on financial need, GPA, ACT/SAT scores, community service, after-school activities and essay questions.  Applications are available in the guidance office and on line at http://www.siue.edu/alumni/awards/stahlschmidtscholarship.shtml.

University of Missouri (Columbia)- 
Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. College of Business- The Trulaske College of Business awarded over $1.75 million to incoming and returning students last year.  The three largest scholarships they offer include the Ponder Minority Scholarship, the Robert J. Trulaske, Sr. Scholarship in Business, and the Sam M. Walton Scholarship in Retail.  These scholarships require a separate application from those that are considered general campus wide scholarships.  These applications can be found at www.business.missouri.edu/scholarships.  The deadline to apply for these three scholarships will be February 1, 2012.  
Reminder:  The deadline for campus-wide and Trulaske College of Business general scholarships is December 1, 2011.  Students are welcome to apply for general scholarships by completing one inclusive application at www.sfa.missouri.edu.

Vantage Credit Union- 
Vantage Credit Union is offering twenty $1,000 scholarships to Vantage Credit Union members who qualify.  Since financial need is not a criterion, nor is class rank, SAT/ACT score or grade point average, virtually any high school senior in the district can apply for the scholarship, once they have joined the credit union.  Stop by the guidance office for an application, or find it online at www.vcu.com.  Completed application deadline:  December 2, 2011. 

Warrenton Elks Local Scholarships-
The Elks National Foundation Scholarship and the Warrenton Elks Local Scholarship are now available.  The Elks will be awarding local scholarships in the amount of $1,000 as well as forwarding on the top three girls and top three boys for the District, State and National Judging.  Any high school senior who is a U. S. citizen is eligible.  Male and female students compete separately for identical awards.  Applications are available to download at www.elks.org/enf/scholars. The applications are due in the Guidance Office on December 1st by 3:00 p.m.  A representative from Warrenton Elks will be picking them up from the school on December 2nd.
