It is with pleasure that I invite you to visit us via this web page and catch a glimpse of us doing what we do best! At Black Hawk, our mission is to create a community where we look at the whole student, helping them learn and grow in their physical, social, intellectual, and emotional needs.As a building staff, we are committed to creating a positive climate where students feel safe and successful.We are a professional learning community with teachers working with other teachers to help students achieve academic success.We have a collaborative climate where we meet to look at data and make decisions based on our findings.Our sole purpose is to promote student learning in a positive school climate.
I encourage you to become a part of our learning community; we send home a calendar of events for the year, and our newsletter always carries a monthly calendar.Come out and watch our students as they play football or run track. I know they want to have a good crowd cheering them on to victory. Additionally, your participation in our community allows our students to see that their home and family are a team as well, with everyone doing what we can to ensure our students a positive learning environment where their needs are met in a positive way.
At Black Hawk Middle School, we understand that middle school students are unique and their needs may be different than other grade levels.We are really no longer elementary school with recess and the same teacher all day, yet we are not a high school, either, with all the little extra perks older students are given. Students are growing and changing at an incredible pace, and I feel fortunate to be a part of their young lives.
