The purpose of the report was to update the board on the programs and services offered through school counselors and how they align with
Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP) goals. A copy of that report can be found here.

Dr. Klinginsmith also presented a CSIP Program Evaluation. The Comprehensive School Improvement Plan Power Point Presentation as well as the Official CSIP Plan through 2022 is available for viewing on Board Docs.

Also approved was the leasing of a bus from Midwest Transit Equipment and a no-cost partnership with Schneider Electric, who will do an energy cost analysis of facilities in an effort to find potential district savings.

2019-2020 Calendar:
The decision to adopt a four-day calendar beginning with the 2019-2020 school year was approved by the board. Superintendent
Dr. Gregg Klinginsmith answered several questions presented by the board regarding this change, and after the meeting described the decision as a “bold and courageous move” by the district. “The goal of this is to help with finances, teacher retention, and student
attendance,” he added.  “I am hopeful this new calendar will help us reach our goals.” A copy of the calendar is available on Board Docs.

Policy Approvals:
Policy JPH-AP(2) is a revision to the head lice policy. A copy of the revised policy is available on Board Docs.

Pay Schedule:
At the June 28, 2018 Special Board Meeting the wrong non-teacher salary schedule document was uploaded into board docs.  The
salaries of the individuals that were presented in closed session at the June 28, 2018 meeting were based off of this pay schedule, not the pay schedule that was approved at the June 28, 2018 meeting. The correct schedule can be viewed here.

Comprehensive School Improvement Plan (CSIP):
The board approved the CSIP as it was presented. A copy of the plan is available for download on Board Docs.

High School Sound System:
Fusion Media was approved to upgrade the high school sound system for a cost of $68,219. This project will include upgrading
microphones and speakers and will be paid out of Fund 4 (Capital Projects). A copy of the bid summary can be found here.

Policy Exception:
Agape has asked to continue to do their “Pennies from Heaven” campaign again in our schools. While this is against policy, the board may grant an exemption to this policy, but took no action on this proposal on Thursday night.  Agape plans to change the name to “Kids Helping Kids Fight Hunger.”  Policy IGDF can be viewed here.
