Allan Dreyer, Treasurer
Franci Schwartz, MSBA Delegate
Rodger Tucker, MSBA Alt. Delegate
Dr. Chad Smith, Member

Congratulations to Victoria Mordick, who has been hired as an Administrative Assistant at Warrenton High School.
Congratulations to George Walker, who has been hired as a P.M. Custodian at Warrenton High School
Congratulations to Judith Folsom, who has been hired as a ECSE Paraprofessional.
Happy retirement to Bus Driver James Davis and Transportation Coordinator Deborah Polston, who have each announced that they will retire at the end of the 2018-2019 school year.

Superintendent Reports:
Dr. Klinginsmith introduced Jodi Brown, who presented a report to the board regarding the Parents as Teachers program.
Jodi Brown presented a report on the Early Childhood Center to the board.
Facilities Director John Chandler presented an Annual Performance Report for his department.
Facilities Director John Chandler presented an Annual Performance Report for his department. A slide show of his department in action is available on Board Docs.
Dr. Klinginsmith gave a Missouri School Improvement Plan (MSIP) update. A copy of his presentation is available on Board Docs.

Contracts:
Approved by the board was an addendum to the Therapy Agreement With Select Rehabilitation. This contract is for physical therapy and occupational therapy for Pre-K - 12th Grade IEP and 504 students.

e-Rate was approved as a recommended vendor. e-Rate discounts internet access and other services on behalf of MOREnet members.

Policy Approvals:
Policies GDBDA and GCBDA cover bereavement leave. These policies were updated to now include first cousin for one day of leave.  GCBDA originally omitted stepchild.  GCBDA now includes stepchild.

Policy IGDF references student fundraising. This policy revises our fundraising policy to allow organizations to raise funds or items for local food banks or shelters.

New Positions and Department Reorganizations:
A new position - Summer School/Care Day Coordinator - was approved. This position will be paid out of summer school funds and should ultimately save the district money over time while providing the same level or better service for summer school.

To help free up the maintenance department to focus on project management, the board approved a new Custodial Supervisor position. This position will replace an existing custodial position with a cost of approximately $15,000 annually. The district should see savings in future projects with the department having additional time to focus on project management.

Starting on March 11, 2019 - through the end of the 2019-2020 school year - there will be an interim assistant principal at Black Hawk Middle School. This fills a vacancy created through a leave of absence. Due to the timing of the leave of absence the middle school will have 3 assistant principals the last two or three months of school at the end of the 2020 school year.

A plan was presented to reorganize the staffing in the Transportation Department for the 2019-2020 school year. With an administrative assistant retiring at the end of the month, the department is proposing that this position be eliminated and the router/trainer position be increased to a 12-month position and that the department add a full-time substitute bus driver. This will be a budget neutral move or could save the district a small amount of money.

Graduation Date for 2020:
The board set the graduation date for the 2019-2020 school year for Saturday, May 30, 2020.

Joint Meeting With the City of Warrenton:
Topics were discussed for the joint board meeting with the City of Warrenton, which is scheduled for February 28, 2019. The city has requested that the four-day school week and the community college initiative be discussed.
