Transportation Change Request

Recently, we have been confronted with concerns with regardingBus "last minute" emergency type changes sent by telephone. Many of these have apparently been sent to the Bus Transportation Office; however, office personnel responsible for transporting students are unfamiliar with most parents and/or guardians. Obviously, this poses serious concerns regarding student safety when the Transportation Office is requested to approve such changes. In consideration of this, the Central Office Administration feels that the building offices have much closer relationships and familiarity with student parents than the Transportation Office. Given this fact, the following changes are immediately adopted in consideration of the safety and welfare of all students, grades K through 12.

Student Bus Transportation Change Requests

1. All requests are to be given in writing and delivered to the student's respective building office, 
not the driver and/or Bus Transportation Office. 

2. If the request is for a student to ride with another student on the same, regular bus home, 
a written note from each student's parent(s) is required.

3. Notes must be submitted and processed no later than 1:00 p.m. on the day the transportation change is requested. 

4. In case of an emergency, the student's building office will make the final decision to change a student's bus transportation.
